well, i include diet too because what you eat to a large extent determines the way you feel/think/etc.
e.g. vegetarianism = low libido
excessive meat consumption = tendency for bestial sexual practices
too much potatoes predispose you to alcoholism
rice gives you an inclination towards opiates (although i cannot confirm this, i just take nietzsche's word for it)
europeans don't have much of an intuition about those things - we usually need the sledgehammer hitting our receptors to get a feeling of our body's psycho-somatic totality.
although maintaining a healthy diet all my life (have been a veggie for as long as i can remember), i am not a very good example of a healthy balanced life-style. being 22, i am already a wreck. most people give me ~30.
apart from junk, i have heavily abused alcohol to the point of, err..lightly damaging my liver. i have been smoking ~2 packs/day for the past 8 years. and so on.
but what i actually had in mind when starting this thread is what goes by the name "adaptogens" and "nootropics".
herbs and substances that subtly modulate your mood, performance and vitality.
P.S. yes, i read and speak a little danish (working on improving and perfecting it during my stay here), but its just slightly above the basic. its not a big deal, but if you feel like practicing your english, feel free.
