Strøm is a new festival for electronic music in Copenhagen. Not a festival in a traditional way, just a gathering of the best promoters and vibrant venues Copenhagen has to offer.
2008 is the second year of Strøm.
From August 12th to 17th, Strøm will host parties, events and foremost concerts on the various venues and in the public space all over town.
When Strøm was founded it was intended for Copenhagen'ers and the whereabouts, but the ambitions are to create an international gathering for electronic musicians and the people dedicated to and working for this great genre. - Strøm wants to become one of the most significant events for electronic music in Northern Europe.
This takes time.
But Copenhagen has the artists. Copenhagen has the clubs. Copenhagen has the urge. And Copenhagen now takes the stage.
Strøm is created in a collaboration between the lovely: Københavns Kommune (Copenhagen City), Wonderful Copenhagen, Danish Radio (DR), ROSA, Amager Bio, VEGA and of course the many different players on the electronic scene in Copenhagen.
